I have been meaning to do this for years but something always got in the way or I just plain forgot. As most of you know I have lots of thoughts on many different subjects and I guess I got tired to typing the same thing over to different people. I hope this will be as much fun as it seems like it could be. The photo is a memory of times gone by. It is of the coast of a small island in the Caribbean called, St. Eustatius, known by the locals as Statia. I went there often (sometimes 3 or 4 times a year) from 1977 til 1993. There were two gentlemen who owned an inn called, The Old Gin House. I was searching for a neat place to go that I could afford and I saw the name in that big travel book which lists info on every place in the world. I said, "With a name like that, I just have to go there".
I had many wonderful times there and was going to get a home and retire there for at least 6 months out of the year. Then many things in my life changed not for the better and both of my friends passed away within a few years of each other. The dream was lost but I still have wonderful memories and I spent money to go there when maybe I should have saved it but then I would not have all those wonderful memories. The lesson is, do what you can in your life when you can do it for there may not come another time for you.
I'll write more when I get work!
Those of you who know me will laugh, the rest of you, well, it will be a learning experience as we go along this road in cyberspace.
